Police Cruiser in Horse Cave Smashed By Self In Mustang

“A Hart County man was arrested Friday night after crashing into a police cruiser while allegedly driving drunk. Donnie Self, 35, from Horse Cave, was traveling north on U.S. 31-E in a 2002 Ford Mustang when he struck the rear of a marked police cruiser driven by Deputy Chief Joe Middleton of the Horse Cave Police Department at about 11:30 p.m. Friday about 51/2 miles northeast of Horse Cave, according to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office.
Middleton was treated for injuries at Caverna Memorial Hospital and released. A passenger in the cruiser, Aaron Moulder, 18, of Cave City, was unhurt. Self was arrested by the HCSO and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, second-degree assault and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs (aggravating circumstances).
Self remains in Hart County Jail under a $100,000 cash bond.” Self is ashamed of self.
