Shelby American announced they will make a 2011 Shelby Super Snake, limited to 1000 cars, with a killer 800-hp. Surely this will satisfy most. For that many horses you need to slap yourself, then slap $30 grand on the table along with your formerly beloved 2011 Shelby GT500, which runs about $50 grand.
Then several weeks later you will have a champion steed, worthy of growing mustaches on passers-by, as well as soiling the pants of little kids, the elderly, and let’s face it, yourself.
Sales start this month. These air-eaters will be built at Shelby’s Las Vegas facility or possibly at one of their shops around the country.
On the long list of mods for $30 large, you get a lowered and tuned suspension, 3.73 rear axle, Borla exhaust, Eibach handling pack, 20-inch anthracite alloy wheels, short-throw shifter, upgraded 6-piston brakes with cross-drilled and vented rotors, cooling ducts for the front brakes, and of course all of the lovely Shelby logos.
Three different power options are available. You can choose between these supercharged options:
- 660 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque
- 750 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque
- 800 horsepower and infinite torque
All Super Snakes will be listed in the official Shelby registry.
