New Steering Wheels For 2005-2011 Mustang
Grant Products just announced they will be making a new Revolution series steering wheel for 2005-2011 Ford Mustangs. They will produce wheels with and without the ROUSH logo on them. They will be offered in various colors to match your taste and your ride.
The wheels are actually made from OEM core wheels and the airbag and button controls all swap over. They have a different feel and grip, with race-inspired flat areas, as well as black suede. These sweet touches will grab $500 out of your pocket though you can get back $80 if you send them your factory wheel afterwards.
2011 Shelby Super Snake 800-hp!
Shelby American announced they will make a 2011 Shelby Super Snake, limited to 1000 cars, with a killer 800-hp. Surely this will satisfy most. For that many horses you need to slap yourself, then slap $30 grand on the table along with your formerly beloved 2011 Shelby GT500, which runs about $50 grand.
Then several weeks later you will have a champion steed, worthy of growing mustaches on passers-by, as well as soiling the pants of little kids, the elderly, and let’s face it, yourself.
Sales start this month. These air-eaters will be built at Shelby’s Las Vegas facility or possibly at one of their shops around the country.
On the long list of mods for $30 large, you get a lowered and tuned suspension, 3.73 rear axle, Borla exhaust, Eibach handling pack, 20-inch anthracite alloy wheels, short-throw shifter, upgraded 6-piston brakes with cross-drilled and vented rotors, cooling ducts for the front brakes, and of course all of the lovely Shelby logos.
Three different power options are available. You can choose between these supercharged options:
- 660 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque
- 750 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque
- 800 horsepower and infinite torque
All Super Snakes will be listed in the official Shelby registry.

Exterior Mods: Good For Your Mustang?
To Mod or Not To Mod, that is the question of the day.
Some of us can’t fight the urge to make our Mustangs stand out from the rest. Personal taste and budget usually define to what extent we go. We have all seen one at a car show and thought “Dang that’s fugly”, while we hear the guy next to us say “Wow that’s freakin awesome”.
What defines hideous? What if we all buy our stick-on mods from the same vendors, then they all look the same. That’s the beauty of the aftermarket. It is the consumer’s choice so it is unlikely two people will have all of the exact same mods on their cars.
I actually don’t mind seeing someone else with my mods. For one, I know that I didn’t get true custom one-offs made, so I almost expect to see my mods somewhere else. Secondly, it’s fun to talk to the other like-minded Stang-fan about their mods and what you did to yours, and compare notes with install problems and so forth.
I think everyone has their own concept of a “perfect Mustang”. I like to have a subtly modded exterior that still looks a little different, with a crazy underhood and interior. If I had the money or time, I would have a totally custom interior and underhood styling complete with monster motor, supercharged or twin-turbo. It would be fun, ready for car shows, but not grab too much unwanted attention while cruisin down the avenue.
I guess I’m a little partial to the stealth Stang. I’d rather see V6 emblems on a monster blown V8 Mustang than see Shelby logos on a V6.
